Sustainable Arkansas 2009

We are now down to the last month leading up to Sustainable Arkansas 2009 on September 11th in Rogers, Arkansas at the John Q. Hammons Center. It is the seventh annual statewide convention and tradeshow for the Arkansas Chapter of the US Green Building Council. As chair of the Western Branch, I have been assigned the role of chair of the event, as it is being held in Northwest Arkansas. It is lining up to be one of the best events we have had.

The keynote is Adam Werbach, founder of Act Now Productions, now Saatchi & Saatchi X. This organization is responsible for the Personal Sustainability Plan group within Wal-Mart. Adam was the youngest national president of Sierra Club at the age of 21.

Other speakers include Daniel Wallach of Greensburg on Discovery Network; Ron Judkoff from National Renewable Energy Laboratory; Bill Harrison, international chair of ASHRAE and many others.

For more information on the event itself, go to www.usgbc-ar.org/Sustainable_AR.html

I hope everyone can take some time to get out and see the newest innovations and green building practices, as well as meet some innovators in the trades and across the industry.
